: The cold wave continued in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. There is no possibility of getting relief from the cold as the temperature was below the average of the season. However, the spokesman said that the daytime temperature in this season is nine degrees below normal. The night temperature in the city was recorded at 0.6 ° C, while the average for this season is 1.2 ° C. He said the maximum temperature in Jammu was 24.1 degrees Celsius, 3.3 degrees below the average for the season, while the minimum temperature was 13.8 degrees Celsius, 0.4 degrees above the average.
The spokesman said that the ski resort of Gulmarg had a maximum temperature of 8.4 degrees Celsius, which received heavy snowfall last week. However, he said that the night temperature at the hill resort was recorded at minus 1.1 degrees Celsius, while the previous night’s minimum temperature was minus 4.8 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, meteorologists have predicted light to moderate snowfall in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir and Kargil region of Ladakh between 14 and 16 November. Sonam Lotus, director of the state Meteorological Department, said, “By November 13, both the union territories will be partly cloudy in the normal course. Light to moderate snowfall is likely in most places of Jammu and Kashmir and Kargil district of Ladakh from the night of 14 to 16 November.
